AlCrO protected textured stainless-steel surface for high temperature solar selective absorber applications

The diffusion of substrate material into absorbing layer and oxidation metal or cermet nanoparticles at high temperatures are known as inevitable problems the solar selective absorbers. In this study, we consider use textured stainless steel (SS) surface coated with a protective AlCr oxide temperature absorber. SS was prepared by ion etching techniques deposited RF magnetron sputtering. absorptivity emissivity as-prepared absorbers were 0.86-0.92 0.151-0.168, respectively. order to evaluate thermal stability, annealed 600-800 C for different time in ambient atmosphere. Absorbers demonstrated red shift onset reflectivity all annealing temperatures. activation energy 315 kJ/mol calculated. service lifetime 500 estimated be about 100 years 700 800 stable 50 1 hours, A detailed examination absorber revealed growth Mn3O4 nanocrystals, which resulted observed change reflectance spectra, while morphology had no significant change. results show that has much higher stability air than iron based
